Kids from National Schools with Galway and Club Hurler Tadhg Haran
A six week Coaching Programme supported by coaches from Liam Mellows GAA Club will start this week. Sorcha Minihan and Karen Kenny will coach Camogie in Holy Trinity National Girls School National School and will be supported onsite by Tom Hanley. Sean Morrissey and Stephen Killeen will coach Hurling in and St. Micheals Boys National School. The programmes will culminate with a Blitz in Liam Mellows GAA Club grounds in Ballyloughane.
Speaking in advance of the programmes Sean Morrissey, Liam Mellows Coach and Schools Liaison Officer, stated "The Liam Mellows Schools Coaching is organised in an age appropriate manner with a view to optimising the learning of Hurling and Camogie in a fun environment. It is a great way for young people to get an introduction to Hurling and Camogie.” He thanked the School’s Principal Peter Woods and the co-ordinating teacher Orla Doyle at Holy Trinity National School for the promotion of Camogie within the School. He also thanked Paddy Forde at St. Micheal's Boys National School for their continued support of the Schools Coaching Programme.
